THE recent celebration by Frontier Industries of its 30th 'birthday' is proof again that a relaxed but effective style of operation is what matters. Frontier Industries MD John Everitt has become something of a feature in the SA rubber and tyre Industry: the man's here, there, everywhere. The Durban-based businessman has been known to enjoy the surf and a bit of off-road/on-road motorbiking, but he's always there when customers need him.
As an independent, Johnny's also proved that he's a survivor of note: he's taken some heavy knocks – both at work and play – but he's always up and ready to resume activities at short notice.
John's dad, the late Ray Everitt, was co-founder of Lewis & Everitt way back in 1949 and he's continued the tradition of reliable material supply and partnering with customers since starting Frontier Industries on 1 April 1981.
FI’s service to the industry has also been aided immeasurably by the company’s logistic manageress Leslie Ogle, who’s been with the company for 11 years and knows the customers and market well.
With often unpredictable supply, international shifts, weather problems and see-sawing exchange rates, material supply has become akin to tightrope walking (don't look down!) and getting it wrong can be very costly. John's experience has been a great help in recent times.
'FI' continues to specialise in the supply of NR/NR Latex but also diversified into selected quality synthetic rubbers; chemical blowing agents and stearic acid; being offered in conjunction with other processing agents; vulcanising agents/rubber chemicals and alternate raw materials and chemicals.
